About

We recognize that there is not a “one-size-fits-all” pathway to career development. To address the variety of learning needs, we have developed a family of learning institutions.

Charter Apprenticeships is the latest addition to the Charter family of learning institutions which joins Charter Career Academy and our ABHES-accredited school Charter College.

Charter Apprenticeships is helping build the workforce of tomorrow

Charter Apprenticeships enables students to learn while they earn on the job. This is an industry-driven career pathway where employers can develop and prepare a workforce to their specific needs, and individuals can obtain paid work experience, online classroom instruction, and a portable, nationally recognized credential.

Apprenticeships defined:

PAID JOB

Earn a competitive wage from day one

EDUCATION

Gain knowledge from on-the-job training + job-related classroom training

CREDENTIALS

Earn a portable credential within your industry

An Apprenticeship Program is an industry-driven training model that combines paid on-the-job learning with classroom instruction. It differs from traditional educational programs in that the employer/organization can develop training that aligns more cohesively with business needs.

In an apprenticeship, an individual is paid a wage while they learn a trade. During the period of the apprenticeship, they gain work experience and earn a portable, nationally recognized credential that can often lead to industry certification. Apprenticeships prepare individuals for a new career while enabling employers to develop the workforce that they require.

Why we need apprenticeships

In recent years, American businesses have struggled to finding trained, qualified workers to meet their growth and development goals. Apprenticeships can play an important role, meeting individual career goals and community workforce needs simultaneously.
